The AJIET library with its state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities provides a good academic atmosphere in extending comprehensive and wide ranging services to the users. The areal extent is 537 sqm and with a seating capacity for more than 160 users at a time. The library is fully automated with barcode readers including automated circulation facility. Additionally, it includes facilities like transaction alerts through e-mail & SMS, Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), digital library, online resource sharing facilities. It keeps pace with modernization by integrating new ICT tools, software and techniques/practices from time to time. All the books are categorized and arranged as per Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme (DDC-23rd edition). Library is provided Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV) to enable security system for the detection of any undue incidents.
Collection and development of resources is one of the main functions of the library that supports academic and research programme of the students, faculty, staff and researchers. Library collection comprising of books, Journals, dictionaries, encyclopaedia, Handbooks, Standards, Data books and other reading materials in engineering, science, technology, humanities, social sciences, management etc. The total collection of library stands as follows:

Acquisition of Knowledge is an endless process. Information has become an integral part of all aspects in modern days. It improves knowledge and helps us achieve better in all disciplines and every walk of life. Information supports education, research and development. It improves the quality of life. The library which is the heart and soul of the institution is established in the year 2016. It provides important academic and research services to the institution. It has well equipped central facility with easy access and provides right impetus for the intellectual growth of the students, faculty and research fellows with a huge collection of books, Journals, Novels, Year books, Handbooks, Reference text books etc. The library holds knowledge resources related to engineering, technology, science and allied subjects. The library is fully computerized with an integrated system connected to the campus network and provides e-resource facility to the user community. Library collections can be searched through OPAC. Library is an active member of VTU consortium through which digital resources can be accessed. Our library team is focused towards providing quality services pertinent to teaching, learning and research activities.

The Library Committee can be defined as the body or a group of people who deal with library activities. It plays an effective and important role to run the library effectively. Brian Young stated that “A library committee is a body which is responsible for all the matters pertaining to the efficient library management”.
The Library Committee has been constituted for the purpose of smooth functioning of the library and co-ordination with all the faculty members, students and the higher authorities. It provides a platform for open discussion of matter relating to library and its services.

Books are issued to all the students and faculty members of the institute. The numbers of books issued are based on the category of the user. Student’s members of the library can borrow books for a period of 15 days. The faculty can borrow six books and return the same at the end of the particular semester. The students should return the borrowed books to the library on or before the due date to avoid the penalty of overdue charges.
For the renewal of books one has to bring them to circulation counter and may be renewed for a period of 15 days. Library reserves the right to recall any renewed book issued to under special cases.
Members can reserve the books which are already issued. The reserved books, after their return, will be kept at the counter for two days for issue to those have reserved. If they fail to collect the books within two days, the books will be given to the members in the waiting list.
Book bank facility is available for all the students and three books will be issued to each student in the beginning of the semester. The books have to be returned soon after the completion of the semester exam, failing to which they will be fined as per the library rules. If issued books are lost, the students have to replace the books.
Periodical section provides technical journals, general magazines and newsletters for reference. The latest issues and other back volumes are arranged separately on display racks and drawers respectively.
Reference books on a wide range of subjects, Dictionaries, Handbooks, Encyclopaedias, Novels, Conference proceedings, Gate books, Question papers, Competitive exam books, Yearbooks, Text books etc are available for reading and reference within the library. Also these books can be issued for overnight reference against their membership card to be returned the next day before 11.00 AM., failing to which a fine of Rs. 10 per day will be charged.
New arrivals provide latest additions to the library. Newly received books are displayed on the display rack placed in the reference section.
Photocopying facility is available in the library. Nominal charges are collected for photocopying service.
Through this service readers are made aware of the new library services, facilities, paper cuttings, current events, employment news, seminar, conference, placement information etc.
To make aware of current events at local, national and at international levels the library subscribes 10 newspapers everyday.
E-PAC-The Library Search Engine is a web enabled search engine that can be accessed on Intranet, as well as on Internet. EPAC can be used to browse/search for an item (book/non-book), along with its detail and the availability, in a particular library. E-resources subscribed by the library can also be searched and accessed through E-PAC. E-PAC Provides:
All the fresher’s are made familiar with the library facilities and services. The rules and regulations are explained to them during the orientation program.
Digital library is equipped with 24 multimedia computers having high speed internet connectivity. The library is granted with VTU e-resource Consortium membership for the subscription of e-resources. The following e-resources are available in the digital library.

The Science Direct offers a rich electronic environment for research journals, bibliographic database and reference works. The database offers more than 1700 scientific, technical and medical peer-reviewed journals, over 59 million abstracts, over two million full-text scientific journal articles, an expanding suite of bibliographic databases and linking to another one million full-text articles via Cross Ref to other publishers' platforms.

Springer organizes the Online Journals into fully indexed, fully searchable Subject Collections covering 11 subjects: including behavioural science, biomedical and life sciences, business and economics, chemistry and materials science, computer science, earth and environmental science, engineering, humanities, social sciences and law, mathematics, medicine and physics and astronomy. Library is a member of Developing Library Network (DELNET), which provides services like browsing of Union Catalogues, Inter Library Loan and Document Delivery Services. Students can access the Catalogues of other Libraries through DELNET and request the required books/documents to be procured from these libraries on loan for a limited period. Turnitin is leading software used by researchers all over the world for checking originality and prevention of plagiarism. Students, research scholars and faculty members are encouraged to check their thesis/ Project work /research publications, etc. using this software.
The soft copy of VTU semester question papers are uploaded in the digital library software. The student users can avail the facility in the library and in the college campus network.
