Keynote Speakers
Dr. Somashekar S Hiremath
Professor, Department of Mech Engg, IIT Madras
Dr. Somashekhar received his doctoral degree in 2004 from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras,
Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Original contributions from his research work and those of the scholars he
has supervised have been published in 84 referred journals, 158 conferences, 5 books, 5 book chapters,
8 granted Indian patents, and 178 invited technical talks. During the present assignment at IIT Madras
and the earlier assignment, he has supervised 22 doctoral students, 6 MS (by research) students, and 59
M.Tech./DD student projects. He has coordinated 11 AICTE-sponsored FDPs for teachers of various engineering
colleges in the country and 10 tailor-made continuing education programs for engineers of various industries
and scientists. He has been handling many core and elective courses for UG/PG, namely Oil Hydraulics and
Pneumatics, Microprocessors in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronic Systems, AI in Manufacturing, and Automation
in Manufacturing. His academic standing has been recognized with several awards. His current research areas are
mechatronic system design, system simulation and modeling, robotics, finite element modeling (basically fluid
structure interactions), micromachining, advanced machining processes (basically hybrid processes), fluid power
systems, and last but not least, additive manufacturing of bio-inspired structures. Currently, he is handling
many consultancy and sponsored projects of various industries and R&D institutions of the Defense, Government of India.
Dr Krushna Chandra Gouda
Senior Principal Scientist, Data Sciences and Mathematical Modelling, CSIR Fourth Paradigm Institute, India
Dr. Krushna Chandra Gouda is a Senior Principal Scientist in Data Sciences and Mathematical
Modelling at the CSIR Fourth Paradigm Institute (CSIR-4PI), Bengaluru, India. He has extensive
expertise in data science–driven weather and climate modelling, data analytics, and machine
learning, with a strong focus on addressing societal and environmental challenges. Dr. Gouda
plays a key role in national and international research initiatives, including his contribution
to the World Meteorological Organization’s HiWeather Project, and collaborates closely with
academia and industry. He also serves as the PhD Programme Coordinator at AcSIR (CSIR-4PI),
mentors innovation initiatives at AIC-SOA Foundation, and holds an honorary scientist position
at the University of Liverpool, UK. His work emphasizes developing efficient, software-based
solutions for weather forecasting, climate risk assessment, and real-world industrial applications.
Dr. Harikrishna Rai
Senior Technical Product Manager, GE Healthcare, Bengaluru
Dr. Harikrishna Rai is a seasoned R&D and technology leader with over 25 years of rich industry
experience in medical imaging, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. He is currently working
as Senior Technical Product Manager at GE Healthcare, Bengaluru, where he leads MRI scanner software
product development initiatives for three premium product lines. He is also responsible for driving
new product innovation and spearheading AI research programs focused on computer vision–based smart
MRI workflow automation. Prior to joining GE Healthcare, Dr. Rai served as Senior Architect and Product
Owner at PhilipsMedical Systems, contributing to the development of Interventional X-ray and CT scanner
software platforms. He has also worked as a Researcher at Infosys Labs, the research and innovation wing
of Infosys. His professional journey further includes key roles as Software Architect at Cerner Healthcare,
Technical Lead at Sharp Software, and Senior Systems Engineer at Manmar Healthcare Technologies, Chennai.
Dr. Rai has led and delivered multiple large-scale R&D and software product development programs, providing
industry-specific solutions across diverse domains such as healthcare, multimedia, automotive, retail, industrial
automation, and document imaging.An active researcher and innovator, Dr. Rai has published around 25 research
papers in reputed international journals and conferences. He holds 14 patents in the imaging domain filed at the
USPTO, with 10 patents granted in his name. He is also associated with several academic institutions as an
Adjunct Professor, Board of Studies (BoS) member, and Editorial Board member of medical imaging journals.
Beyond his professional and academic contributions, Dr. Rai is deeply committed to social service. He serves
as Trustee and General Secretary of SAKSHAM Karnataka, a national-level NGO dedicated to the education, health,
and economic empowerment of persons with disabilities (Divyangs). He is also nominated as Advisor and General
Council Member of AYJ National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities, under the Ministry of Social Justice
and Empowerment, Government of India. Dr. Rai holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication
Engineering from Mangalore University, a Master’s degree in Medical Software from Manipal University, and a
Ph.D. in Computer Science from JNTU Hyderabad.

Professor Sardar M N Islam is a highly motivated and committed academic, distinguished by an
